There’s a considerable buzz about town about the bankruptcy of Isaacson Steel. We can only hope that they can reorganize their business and continue operations. I believe that this event caught everybody off guard, including the employees. In normal economic times the issues that forced the bankruptcy might be easily resolved, but when so many businesses are already in “survival mode”, what is a simple mistake can become catastrophic. This same scene is repeating itself all over the country and where it will all end is anybody’s guess. Meanwhile in Washington, the newly elected idiots from the tea party are prepared to shut the government down to fulfill one of their insane beliefs. Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face! These numb skulls have no idea what the impact of shutting the government down may be, their myopic focus is on the national debt. For the past week I’ve paid close attention to what some of the country’s leading experts have to say on the subject and more than 90% of them fear the consequences of allowing the government to default, what's at risk is throwing our economy into a steep depression. This is what I call ignorant politics by people who have simple answers to very complex issues. Now I wouldn’t mind if they put their crazy ideas to the test only on their own personal future, but they’re tinkering with me and you and whatever we may have for a nest egg. This is what happens when people are driven by ideology, not by common sense or experience/knowledge. This is the same kind of shallow thinking that predicted the end of the world 3 to 4 weeks ago, but in this case these fruitcakes may bring us to the end of our economic world. They speak a good line, but their simplistic rhetoric is as nutty as Palin’s remark about seeing Russia from her house, which of course made her an expert on Russian affairs. If it wasn’t for the fact that a lot of innocent people will get hurt if these idiots get their way, I’d say; “Let them find out the hard way”, but we’re all in this together. Keep in mind that we have the largest economy in the world and like anything that is super size, you need to use caution when changing course. What these tea bagger’s are proposing is somewhat like turning the plane’s engines off at 50,000 feet because there’s turbulence at that altitude and they don’t like turbulence. Don’t compromise by making adjustments or corrections; just shut the government down because you don’t like the size of the national debt. Now, how long did it take for us to get into this mess? YEARS! Might it not take as long to make the appropriate corrections without creating a lot of chaos? More than likely, but don’t confuse those dimwits with the facts, their minds are made up, some even claim to have been chosen by God to go to Washington to “fix things”. Good luck to us, we’re going to need it.
The writing was on the wall over a year ago Rocky come on bud!!

I don’t know about you Rocky, but I for one am Taxed Enough Already. Who is going to pay for more borrowing? We can’t tax our way out of this one. Besides that is theft by force. More of the same is definitely not the answer, that is what got us here. Time to pay the piper. The dollar is on it’s way to being worthless anyway. The best chance to salvage anything at this point is to stop the borrowing, pass a balance budget amendment, reduce the size of government, end the Fed, return to the gold standard and most importantly uphold the laws as written in the Constitution. Continuing to do the same is insanity and sure self destruction. I hold hope in the younger generation not to fall into the same trap the older one so willing buy into.

All of you make excellent points and I'm not saying that we can do the same thing as in the past and expect a different outcome, but replacing crooks with idiots doesn't work either. Money and influence has corrupted the system and you can see that the idiots have already fallen prey to big money, just look at what they want to cut and what they're silent about. When was the last time you saw one of them get emotional over the pentagon budget? Hell, they don't even want to close the loop holes in the corporate welfare system. Our military budget is the BIGGEST IN THE WORLD! It's more than ALL other countries COMBINED! Don't you think that if we added-up what we've spent in the Middle East over the past 20 years and applied that to our budgets we would have a national debt? Be real folks, the inmates are proposing to take over the asylum, it's not a step in the right direction.

This was posted on I-HUB this morning talking about Laidlaw/LLEG, but also reflects the tea party and those who believe their stories:There exists in society a very special class of persons that are always referred to as the Believers. These are folks who have chosen to accept a certain religion, philosophy, theory, idea or notion and cling to that belief regardless of any evidence that might, for anyone else, bring it into doubt. They are the ones who encourage and support the fanatics and the frauds of any given age. No amount of evidence, no matter how strong, will bring them any enlightenment.

How does it go? "My mind is made up. Don't confuse me with facts."
This does apply to many these days, although I disagree with your broad brush approach to "the tea party."

The Repeal of the 16th and 17th Ammendments would be a Step in the Right Direction. Abolish the IRS and Take the Big Special Interest Money out of Senatorial Elections. Senators were ( before 1913 ), and should still be Responsible to their States, and Not the People who gave them the Money to Campaign for Office. Running for Senate before the State Legislature was a lot more Honest ( and cheaper ) than what we have today.
Abolishing the Federal Reserve, and returning to Gold and Silver backed Money would be another Big Step in the right direction.
To keep Raising the Debt Limit, which has been done 74 times I hear is like Giving a Drunk another Drink. It will be their Last! They Promise You! If only You give us more Money, We'll get Honest.....Kinda like the Situation at Isaacsons, maybe.

Let's begin Our Cuts in Military Spending by Withdrawing from Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. Is it True that Egypt and Libya were/are the only two Arab Countries that have Peace Treaties with Israel? What is Obama trying to accomplish? Why not bomb Syria as well? Who made U.S. policeman to the world? Let's purge that BIG Tapeworm from Our Country and Evict the United Nations from US Soil. And withdraw from that Organization that was promoted by the likes of Alger Hiss.

Great Article posted at 7:14am this morning Antonio!!!
"It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.”
"Instead,Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.” Senator Barack Obama’s March 2006.
Wow.... Could this be "Simplistic Nonsense" from none other than The "Annointed One" ????
Keep up the Good work Antonio!

I don't believe there's a disagreement about the fact that we need to address the national debt and the whole financial mess we call the National Budget. The tough question is how? I happen to believe that our national priorities have been hijacked by corporate/special interest. We can't have a national energy policy because the oil, coal and gas lobbies won't allow change. We can't address health care issues because of the AMA and Insurance lobbies. Our lack of energy policy requires that we have armies all over the world keeping Exon, BP, Mobil and others safe from the locals who aren't please that we're depleting their oil resources. (There's no money in sand) The list goes on and on, where the lobbyist are writing the legislation and this is going on in Concord too. The enemy is not the government, it's the government of special interest that carries out the orders of our corporate giants who dictate our agendas and priorities. Why is it that when the idiots shout jobs, jobs, jobs, it's not followed by asking Corporate America why they've moved the jobs to China and Korea? (Could it be higher profits?) It's pathetic to see us fighting among ourselves for the crumbs falling from the corporate tables and not focusing our debate at sky rocketing profits, exorbitant CEO salaries and enough tax loopholes to pass an oil tanker through. The super rich love to see us fighting amongst ourselves, it takes the attention away from the REAL issues and them.

It all comes down to Class Warfare with You, doesn't it Rocky?
I say a Return to Constitutional Principals will help fix a lot of our problems. Strict Construction, I believe its called. Read the Constitution as written, and stop trying to "Interperate" or Parse it into Irrellevance. I love the last conversation between Vasily Zaitsev and the Commisar in the movie Enemy at the Gates. Total Equality among Men can Never by achieved ( by Man ) in this World. Someone will always have something the other Guy does not have. And Jealousies will arise. Americans were only Promised the "Pursuit of Happiness", they were never guaranteed it. And No Govt. on Earth of Man can ever Provide it.

Nice post Warren. Rocky, you have to stop drinking the BHO Kool Aid. What they are serving isn't working in case you haven't noticed. Do we have a "dimwit" in the White House? I know a lot of people who think so.
Take care,
