Tom is just not a Team Player. WN is correct, the People of Berlin Spoke in the last Election, and Tom did not get the message. He ran His own ship onto the reef and is "marooned" with no help from anyone else. Led Zeppelin's "Nobody's Fault but Mine" comes to mind.... Poor Tom.

I would actually argue that people should vote for Tom because he's likely the only "check and balance" to this current council. Unanimous consent is never good for any political body. Do you really want an entire council made up of yes-men for Paul Grenier?

You may have liked him because of his stance on the biomass project but I have to tell you that Paul is not always right on all of the issues. Anybody that defines themselves as a "progressive Democrat" (as Paul once did) is somebody that needs to be carefully watched.

I would describe Paul as opportunistic. He's in it for Paul, it matters little if it's republican or democrat as long as he sees an opportunity to, first look good and second, a step to the next level. Like a drug addict looking for the next "fix". Ever read The Little Prince?

You are Right to a point WN. But Party Political Politics is irrelevant at a Local level, imo. Mayor Grenier is not "just for Biomass" ( at Burgess ), He is for bringing ANY and ALL Jobs possible to this Very appropriate and Logical location. I may disagree with Sen. John Gallus ( a moderate republican ) on some Local Employment Options/ Ideas, but John is for Any and All Ideas that reach the Table ... a good thing, right?
The Problem with Our last administration, again imo, is that they were OWNED by a VERY small ( and Snotty ) "Clique" that could not care less about "the average working slob" here in Berlin. Maybe it's a Social Justice Thing... Everyone has to Eat, right? BTW WN, You are a very level headed guy and have a good heart, I like that. Tom is a nice guy as well, but just on the wrong side of the issue. In these tough times, we need Team Player's.

Sad that the biomass issue is still controlling politics in Berlin. How many readers of the BDS realize that, in the "Paid Political ad by Paul Grenier", no less than 5 of the 7 candidates pictured are running unopposed? Only in Ward 2, where Denise Morgan-Allain opposes Councilor McCue, and Dori Ducharme is opposed by former Councilor Dick Lafleur, is there a contest. The clusters of 3 signs for "Team Berlin" are more revealing. I wonder if Paul paid for those as well?
Payback is petty.

I think it's a reflection of the collective mentality of the community. Isolated, uninformed, petty and blind to options. The same ingredients found in any isolated community that is commonly described as a ghetto.
