I understand that this "Job Creator" laid off all his elves and sent their jobs to the south pole...penguins work cheaper!

Can you identify the 1% you are referring to?
Posted by: Ron Paul 2012 | December 19, 2011 at 10:05 AM
He's probably referring to the owners of corporations that don't pay taxes...you know Ronnie...the "Job Creators" you Republicans are always talking about and protecting.

AA- "babble, babble, babble..."

Finally Ronnie sais something intelligent.

RP 2012, if you don't know who the 1% are then your comments are pure rhetoric and have no value. I bet $10K you didn't vote at the last election.
Posted by: Rocky | December 19, 2011 at 12:00 PM
Rocky, I would take that bet, but I know you couldn't pay. :)
RP 2012, the 1% that laid off the elves is a myth, much like the facts and figures being spouted off here.

Interesting to watch all these left-leaning political talking heads bash any who rise to the top of the Republican heap except Romney. Why do the Dems want Mitt to be the nominee? Why are they so confident they can beat him?
Yes, I hear it now..."Because they can!" Typical non-answer.
Posted by: Antonio Andolini | December 19, 2011 at 02:40 PM
AA,
The Dems want Newt as the nominee. That is why the media latched on to the $10,000 bet and why they are praising Newt every chance they get. Once Newt wins the left leaning media will turn on him and laugh as he gets crushed by Obama. I'm going to repeat what I've said before, if New wins the nomination then we are going to have to live through 4 more years with BHO at the healm (scary thought).
Even the worst President since Carter can beat Newt, and the media (and Obama) know it.
Take care,
WN

WN, well, the pundits were praising Newt until last Thursday. Now it seems they're on to talking about Ron Paul. My point was the lack of focus on, and criticism of, Romney. The GOP establishment mostly is backing Romney.
Newt would be good if there was a real (Lincoln-Douglas style) debate between the nominees. However, he is not really a conservative and there are still many around who are angry with him about something in the past. He accomplished a lot, but that's not how you make friends much of the time.
The convention is still some time away; something the Dems like. Then, too, so is the election. There are a number of us, though, who are still waiting to see a candidate worth supporting. We may yet see someone. If not, 2016 is in some ways already going.
I don't like the idea of four more years of Obama, but if it happens we will get through it and then we will get over it. This is still the greatest nation on Earth.
Posted by: Antonio Andolini | December 19, 2011 at 05:11 PM
I don't often agree with WN, but he's right, Newt is a gift to Obama. I see you taking a swipe at Carter, (Of course, he's an evil Democrat. I believe history will be kind to Carter who on many issues was not only right, but 20 years ahead of his time. The problem with Carter was that he was a lousy politician, a bright and honest person, but a lousy politician. Isn't it funny, we keep harping about how our elected officials are crooks and stupid, but somebody honest comes along and he gets crucified, figures.

You Republicans have NOTHING to offer America! Get over yourselves...you will NOT destroy this Country!
Posted by: James on the Left | December 19, 2011 at 05:23 PM
Gee James on the Left, what do we non-Republican, non-Democrat, libertarian-leaning (Note that's small l) have to offer? I'm talking about those of us who take care of our families, work for a living, pay taxes, try to buy local, and volunteer in our communities.
I do agree Republicans will not destroy this country.

Rocky, I've always thought that much of President Carter's difficulties were because, sadly, he and many of his advisers had no Washington experience. Historically, those Presidents with only previous state government experience often were less successful (whatever that is.) I remember my father, who became a "Reagan Democrat" because of President Carter, saying that he respected Carter for his service in the nuclear submarine service.
Posted by: Antonio Andolini | December 19, 2011 at 05:54 PM
Yes he was a nuclear engineer and you're right, he wasn't a Washington insider. But again we always complain (with reason)about Washington insiders, but when we elect one we want him to behave like an insider. Obama is somewhat of an outsider and you have a whole bunch of "insiders" who declared that he wasn't welcomed and that they would make him a one term president and they may win that bet. (It's worth more than $10K) Carter proposed an energy policy that would make the US energy independent by the end of the 80's. Guess what? We don't have an energy policy yet!

James Earl Carter filled His Staff with Washington Insiders.
Walter Mondale, CFR & TLC*
Cyrus Vance
W. Michael Blumenthal
Harold Brown .... each a Trilateralist* and CFR Member.
Zbigniew Brzezinski
Andrew Young
Richard N. Gardiner... All Trilateralists.
He is notorious for Giving Away The Panama Canal in 1978 and Enabling the Islamic Revolution in Iran by not giving Full Support to the Shah, who was Our Ally. He also Defunded the US Military to a Shamful Extent where much needed parts had to be "Cannabalised" from other equipment. Oh, and Soldiers Guarding Bases were NOT allowed to have ammo in their weapons, so I've been told. Reagan rectified that, I believe after the Beirut Barracks Incident.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODD Morning Antonio!!!
Further Reminiscence's on the Appalling weakness of James Earl Carter can not help but bring us to this Sad Chapter in America's History. I personally remember how Carter was Mocked, and America was Ridiculed abroad. Then came Reagan, and a Return to American Pride and Self Respect.

"The national political parties took more cash from lobbyists in the first half of 2011 than in any other six-month period on record, even during the wide-open election of 2008, and the Democratic Party’s committees have easily outpaced their GOP counterparts despite President Obama’s vilification of special-interest giving."

No surprise that girlfriend loved Reagan the deficit raising, tax hicking union busting president. If it wouldn't be for Reagan Mr. Warren might be better off today...but Mr. Warren likes it where she is, go figure?
