Warren, how about we don't send anything or anyone anywhere until we figure out why we would do that? I'm not naive enough to think we could have nation-wide forums or referendums about every national security strategy, nor that we should. We do need to elect leaders who are willing to protect our interests at home as well as abroad.

Very soon, the Obama version of the Committee to Re-Elect the President will kick into high gear and we'll hear all about how the evil, wicked, mean and nasty Republicans want to throw Granny, babies, "the children" and all the various protected classes out in the streets to suffer and die. Doomed, I tell ya, they're doomed! Only Barack can save us...blah,blah, blah.
The fundamental issue is the role of government in each of our lives versus the role we play in each of our lives.
We need the Federal government for the military, like it or not. We need the Interstate Highway System. We don't need the Federal Department of Education. We need to revamp the Federal Tax Code. We need to reduce the size of the Federal Government. We need to VOTE! 2010 was a good start.
